My wife just picked up the ubiquitous 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' book so I decided to pick up another book for myself to read to brush up before our pregnancy. This compilation of the pregnancy topics for men is just what I needed: informative and entertaining for a dad to read.Although my wife disagrees with some of the subjective decisions made by the author for 'men'(i.e. what appointments to attend/skip), it definitely hits all the key points that we need to know for ourselves and most importantly, our wives and future baby-to-be's.
My husband didnt read this book because he thought it was silly. I read it and thought it was okay and humerous in the right parts, but it didnt have the effect I wanted it to have because hubby didnt read. Oh well.
It's funny, at times hilarious, and best way help ease into becoming a first time father. (This book and) I would definitely recommend reading the real, "What to Expect When You're Expecting" book too.
I was shopping with my husband and happened to see this book in the store. The Answer sold us, and we bought the book. It's pretty funny - we read it together, and reading it aloud is much funnier in my opinion. I picked it out, opened to a random page and hit upon a Q&A section about men preferring sons to daughters. Which my husband and I had jokingly argued about earlier in the day. I, as the wife, was able to appreciate much of the male humor.Though it does have times where it's just not funny at all. It's worth a read-through if you happen to have it on hand or get it as a gift. But I wouldn't buy it from the store again.
I've given a copy of this book to every expectant father I've known for years. It is always much appreciated. Most of the pregnancy books are so serious. This is just hilarious.
